Two Snow Trips
Jan 29th, 2010 by mt

I’ve been trying to snowboard and take photos more this year.  I hadn’t been planning on doing both at the same time, but I have.  Having just bought my 7D, I’ve been hesitant taking it out for my snowboarding trips, so I used my old XT. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the results.

A few of my favorites.

Last Saturday, I went up with a few friends.

My friends Connie and Thomas on the lift. (Sean and JChou are in front of them).

Just because I haven’t updated in a while…
Dec 23rd, 2008 by mt

Yeah, I’ve been super busy lately.  It’s Christmas season, and over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I bought myself the xBox 360 and the Nintendo DS.  It’s swallowing up most of my free time and when I do have extended free time, I’m usually out with friends, especially now that my buddy CJ is back for the winter.  Speaking of CJ and the Winter, I just went boarding last weekend with CJ and her MPK friends.  It’s always pretty fun to stay up in the cabins, but driving up to the mountain by myself at midnight in the cold and having to put on snow chains in the dark is something else.

Driving back down from the mountains, I must have ran over a nail, because yesterday, my tire pressure sensor went off, and i took a look and my tire was half flat, so I took it to the dealership today, hoping they could just patch it up and give me the complimentary car wash that they always give me.  Yes, I got the car wash, but no, they said it can’t be patched and I need a new tire.  Cost: $200!!! I looked up the price for my tires.  225/45 R17 91H.  Costco doesn’t sell continental but have a Michellin tire thats the same size, but a different grade (91 Y instead of H) and it’s about the same cost.  However, the 91H, which is two grades lower than the 91Y is so far inferior in performance that the guy selling me the tire said he would sell it to me, but I’d have to put on the tires myself because the stopping powers for the two aren’t the same and Costco doesn’t want to be held liable.  LAME. So I called around, and the tires go for about $175ish, but everyone charges labor, so I might just get it done at the dealership.  Ridiculous.

I’m also not done with my Christmas shopping so that $200 is goign to really hurt the wallet, especially after my black friday, cyber monday, and mom’s xmas president extravaganza spending spree. Totally ridiculous.  I really need to stop and save money.

So to do that, I enrolled in 4 classes at Fullerton Community College next semester.  Cost $268ish or some crap like that, which I feel is kind of cheap for classes (compared to UC’s)) and it’s for stuff I like.  The downside, it’s in fullerton! I have to haul some butt to get over there after work to get there on time. But hopefully, that and my xbox/guitar hero will keep me well behaved for a while.

I am going to try to blog a bit more later on though…
