City workers cut up a fallen tree on Bloomfield Blvd. between 166th and Alondra.
Southern California has been hit by weather uncharacteristic of what you would imagine of Southern California. It has been raining and even hailing. There’s been floods and tornado warnings. Around my work/house (I live about half a mile from work), trees have been falling. I took some photos on Tuesday of some of the stuff that’s been going on.

This was the first tree I saw. I drove home shortly after lunch to get my camera and as I was driving back a tree had fallen, blocking off the 166th between Shoemaker and Bloomfield.

Roots of the same tree

Upon returning to the office, I discovered the power had went out. The rain had let up a little bit, so I took one of the office bikes and my camera out for a spin around the block. Just one building away, a branch of a tree came down and wreck havoc on some cars.

Hulk SMASH!

More smashups. The green car got SO lucky. Not even scratched.

Poor guy.

So it was three cars that took the damage. The silver pickup truck and the two red cars. Usually in this case, the building owners’ insurance company would be responsible for them, and I told them that. But as I was leaving, I found out they didn’t work at the building on the lot, but adjacent. And there was a sign posted that said “Private Parking”, so they might be SOL-ed over it.
This is why they didn’t park at their normal lot.

It's a lake!
I rode down the street some more. That’s where I got the first picture in this post. Then just about a hundred yards down the street was this.

The rain started to pick up again so I rode back to the office and took a photo of the front of the office.

Odyssey's parking lot
Pretty paranoid about the falling trees, everyone moved their cars towards the back where there were no trees.

Rain again the next day. All day it seemed like.
